An accusation denied vehemently by the Israeli official Yigal Bilmor. This action could be used to spur a Hezbollah attack on Israel. A second explosion in the Southern Suburbs of Beirut occurred 40 days after the explosion that happened in Bir al-Abed. al-Manar, a station affiliated with Hezbollah, said that the explosion that occurred in the area located between Royce and Bir al-Abed was caused by a car bomb explosion.

The General Secretary of the Lebanese Red Cross, George Katani, said that there are 30 injured that have come to the hospitals al-Sahel and al-Rusuul al-A’athum, and confirmed there are 3 dead until now. Hezbollah imposed a security cordon in the area of the explosion while a big civilian mob massed, and a large number of cars were seen burning sending thick smoke billowing from the area.

The Public Health Minister requested the care-taker government of Ali Hassan Khalil to ensure “all hospitals in Beirut and it’s suburbs open their doors to the victims of the terrorist bombing and provide them with the maximum of medical care.”

al-Asad on Hezbollah Channel Tomorrow

al-Ghad (Jordan), 29th May 2013

Published: 29/05/2013. Time: 12.13 PM (+3 GMT)

Beirut: The Syrian President Bashar al-Asad will speak tomorrow on Thursday in an interview with TV channel”al-Manar”  affiliated to his ally Hezbollah (Party of God), and who fights alongside regular forces in Syrian interior, according to the Syrian President’s Facebook website on Wednesday.

The page indicated that al-Asad will speak at 9.00 in the evening Damascus time to the Lebanese Channel “al-Manar” in a dialogue broadcast in conjunction with Syrian satellite channels, without providing additional details. al-Asad’s last appearance was an announcement last 17th April, while making a speech on Syrian channel “al-Ikhbaria.”

Hezbollah, affiliated with the Syrian Regime, has participated in battles in the Syrian interior between regime and rebel forces, especially in the strategic city Qasir in the middle of the country.

The general secretary of the party, Hassan Nasrallah, confirmed on Saturday the continuation of party’s participation, promising support in battles and to increase the party’s participation in clashes in Syria.

This is controversial in Lebanon which is divided between supporters of the al-Asad regime and opposition sympathizers (AFP).
