World Federation of Trade Unions condemns American aggression against Syria

21 February 2014

The World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU) has strongly condemned American aggression against Syria, calling for an immediate end to this hostility, which targets the Syrian people.

In a statement acquired by the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) the WFTU confirmed that there is no relation between terrorist groups inside Syria, and American, British, French, Turkish, “Israeli,” and Gulf support for the peace and democracy they claim to defend.

The WFTU renewed its solidarity with the Syrian people and its defence of their right to determine their present and future, calling for trade unions and people to remain vigilant, even though there is some debate and discussion of a political solution to the crisis in Syria.

During its meeting in the Italian capital of Rome on 14/15 February, the presidential council of the WFTU discussed the latest developments in Syria.
