Haider: The Palestinian Issue has transformed into an issue of terrorism

6 February 2014

Alaa Haider, editor-in-chief of the Middle East News Agency, confirmed that the issue of Palestine is an issue of national security, but its lustre has been greatly tarnished because of the power schism between Fatah and Hamas.

In his speech at the Palestinian delegation’s conference at the Middle East News Agency headquarters to expose the trade tunnels between Rafah and Gaza, Haider added that the January 25th and June 30th revolutions have had a major impact in the Egyptian media’s declining interest in the Palestinian Issue recently. Haider indicated that the Egypt’s interior issues could also effect relations between the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas.

The editor-in-chief of the Middle East News Agency indicated that the Palestinian Issue has become an issue of terrorism because of the entry of a religious factor in the conflict, which will worsen conditions in the coming period.
